A combined $50,000 in grants was given to 15 Siouxland organizations on Thursday from the Missouri River Historical Development.
The MRHD grants ranged from $1,500 to $7,500. The largest amount of $7,500 went to Siouxland Chamber Foundation for its Downtown Live Concert Series 2026. The Golphstok, Inc. received the next largest amount of $5,000 for its Music and Arts Festival.
The Children's museum of Siouxland and Old 20 Community Development Corp each received $1,500.
The community event grants provide up to $10,000 per applicant over a 12 month period to support community events that bring people together and enhance quality of life.
Grant funds may be used to develop, promote, and implement new or existing events that serve woodbury county residents, attract visitors, and create meaningful shared community experiences.
The Missouri River Historical Development group holds the license for casino gambling in Woodbury County, and its officials provide such grants as part of their mission.
MRHD gives out three rounds of grants each year, including the largest financial grant of up to $1 million, in the Economic Development Match Grant category.
