The North Sioux City Commission approved the purchase and easement agreements of 11 plots of land for the Northshore Drive realignment project.
The realignment project is a plan to construct a new highway bypassing the existing Northshore Drive and is federally funded.
The easements allow the city to construct the highway and manage storm sewer and drainage systems on private or purchased property while covering the cost for the owner’s property transfer and recording.
The June 2024 flooding event severely damaged many homes throughout the project area and the existing Northshore Drive.
