Woodbury County Board of supervisors member Matthew Ung announced Thursday during a press conference that he is not running for reelection.
During the press conference, Ung thanked his colleagues for their hard work and his family for supporting him.
He said that he and his family are planning to move and that he may consider running again in the future.
Even though he is not seeking reelection, Ung plans to continue to be involved in the community.
Ung also mentioned that he has been writing a book about Woodbury County politics. He is aiming to have the book completed by September.
Ung has been serving on the board of supervisors for twelve years.
Four Woodbury County elective office positions will be on the November ballot, two of which are county board of supervisors positions in Districts 2 and 4. Supervisors Dan Bittinger and Matthew Ung currently hold those positions.
