The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra Association announced Tuesday that Executive Director David Gross will retire in June.

According to the press release, during his time with the symphony, Gross has maintained his support for creative momentum, expanding education initiatives, and supporting artistic programming.

In the release, Gross said the decision comes with deep gratitude for the experiences and relationships he shared with the symphony and was made so he could focus on his family.

He said he is confident that the symphony’s future is bright and vibrant.

Gross has been executive director of the symphony since July 2023.

The association will begin the search for the next executive director in the coming month. The position is expected to be filled by the 2026-2027 season.
