Air Force Veteran Scott Morris announced he is running for governor of South Dakota.
Morris, an Independent candidate, served in the military for 33 years and is a substitute teacher.
According to his website, his priorities include increasing support for teachers, strengthening support for agricultural production, and improving access to veteran services.
Other candidates running for governor include Republicans Dusty Johnson, Jon Hansen, and Toby Doeden; Democrat Robert Arnold; and Independent Terry Gleason.
The current governor, Larry Rhoden, entered the role in January last year and is running for reelection.
