Kingsley Pierson students returned to their main building on Tuesday after water main damages forced them to attend classes at different facilities. In November, a water main broke flooding and damaging the school in Kingsley.

Adam Brand, principal of Kingsley Pierson, told Siouxland Public Media on Wednesday the K4 and 912 students were back in their classrooms.

Brand said the middle school was untouched because it is a different campus in Pierson.

He said that the flooring in the school has been replaced or repaired and that the classrooms are fully functional for teaching and learning.

Brand mentioned there is still work being done on the north gym, auditorium, and band and choir rooms. The work for the gym, band, and choir rooms is expected to be completed this month.

The work for the auditorium is expected to be completed by March because of a delay in receiving replacement chairs.

Teachers spent Friday and Monday preparing and resetting their classrooms for students to return.
