The Sioux City Council approved the submission of a grant application to the Federal Aviation Administration for the Sioux Gateway terminal improvement project in its meeting Monday.
According to a memo, city staff recommended applying for the grant that will cover up to $1.1 million of the project’s total cost with a 10 percent local match.
The project includes switchgear and wiring replacement, area improvements, and installation of a new exit lane.
The estimated cost for the project is $1,250,000 and is expected to be funded by the Airport Terminal Program administrator and the city’s FY27 Airport Abated GO Bonds.
