As the University of Nebraska Board of Regents meeting approaches, faculty members from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are participating in a 'Week of Action'.

On the agenda there is a budget proposal that would eliminate four programs on the Lincoln Campus. Programs being considered are earth and atmospheric sciences, statistics, educational administration, and textile merchandising and fashion design.

Events for the week of action include sign making, a jazz funeral procession, and rallies.

Sarah Zuckerman, president of the UNL chapter of the American Association of University Professors, told Nebraska Public Media, Professors want to shed light on what’s happening at the university and remind Nebraskans of the vote on Friday. She said the potential cuts are detrimental to the university and the state.

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet on December 5th.
