The Sioux City Council will discuss approving changes to the development agreement and minimum assessment agreement for Siouxland Splash in its meeting Monday.

Last year, the council approved the agreements that finalized the purchase of city-owned land for the development of Siouxland Splash, a recreational water park.

The developer is requesting that the completion date for the water park be extended for one year, changing it from December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2026. They originally intended to open the waterpark this summer; however, issues related to construction supply and shortages pushed the date to the middle of next year.

Changes to the project’s timeline do not impact the previous financial commitment.

Construction of the Siouxland Splash project started in August of last year.
