Remsen St. Mary’s Schools in Remsen, Iowa, is holding a fundraising event on Tuesday to raise funds for several students hospitalized from a bus crash.
The school's girls basketball team and coach were in a bus crash on Saturday.
Since then the school has held multiple events for the team and the community has come to show their support.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s office on Monday posted updates on injuries of the students and other people that were involved in the accident.
The severity of the injuries to four players ranged from one complaining of pain to three with major injuries. Three players and the assistant coach were not injured.
The school posted on social media announcing there will be a fundraising event on Tuesday at Le Mars Subway, where 20% of sales will be given to the hospitalized students. It also posted that after many requests by community members, they have opened bank accounts for donations for the girls basketball team.
