Iowa 4th District Congressman Randy Fenstra is shifting his election ambitions to the governor position, and on Monday he kicked off his campaign at Dordt College in Sioux Center.

Feenstra has touted his support for the largest tax cut in Iowa history when he was a state senator, and more federal taxes cuts earlier this year in supporting the Big Beautiful Bill proposed by President Trump.

Feenstra is one of five Republicans running for the governor position, which will be an open seat in the November 2026 election because Republican Governor Kim Reynolds is not running for re-election.

Feenstra on his website says he has four goals as governor: making Iowa the friendliest state for business and agriculture, delivering world-class education, making high-quality healthcare affordable and accessible, and creating a better state for people to have excellent futures.

Feenstra has slated two more campaign events later this week in Cedar Falls and Bettendorf.
