The Sioux City Council, in its meeting Monday, will discuss approving a memorandum of understanding between the City of Sioux City and the Sioux City Community School District.

The MOU outlines terms related to the development of the Main Overlook Project located at 20 17th Street.

Through federal HOME Investment Partnership program funding, the neighborhood services division continues to administer projects throughout Sioux City to develop and enhance diverse housing options.

The plan is to continue this initiative by purchasing eight homes from the school district’s trade pathway program.

Sioux City will be responsible for both site preparation and the moving of the homes to a city-owned lot. The school district will be responsible for the construction of the homes.
