The Sioux City Council approved and accepted a $110,332 grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development in its meeting Monday.

The Continuum of Care Planning Project grant will be used to help plan and coordinate services for people experiencing homelessness.

The city and the Siouxland Coalition to End Homelessness will work together to fulfill the requirements of the grant.

The grant will fund a multifaceted project with SCEH agencies to provide training, improve policies, and recruit new members.

The city’s Community Development Block Grant will contribute $27,583 in matching funds.
