Though the Jimmy Kimmel show will return to broadcast television this evening after a week away, the Sioux City affiliate will not air it tonight.
KCAU-TV’s license owning corporation, Nexstar Media Group, has declined to bring Kimmel’s late night program back to its schedule.
In a press release, the company reaffirmed its decision to maintain its stance against airing the show following Kimmel’s comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Kimmel’s comments sparked anger from Kirk supporters.
Siouxland Public Media contacted KCAU-TV for more details, but they declined to comment.
