In their meeting on Thursday, the Iowa Board of Regents approved the advisory committee for the School of Intellectual Freedom at the University of Iowa.
The committee is made up of 26 members and will include three Iowa regents.
Regent Nancy Dunkel noted that the majority of the people on the list were from out of state.
Dunkel also noted that there appears to be a lack of diversity in political parties.
She pointed out the gender imbalance on the committee, with only two women among the 26 members.
Regent JC Risewick commented that a 26-member board may be too large for it to be effective.
The list was approved on a 7-2 vote.
