On Tuesday, striking employees at Kemps Dairy plant in Le Mars were presented with a tentative agreement that all but one accepted.
Kim Quick, President of Teamsters local Union 554, on Wednesday told Siouxland Public Media, “the strikers were able to reach an industry leading contract settlement.”
The agreement includes a Teamster health and welfare plan, benefit plan, and a defined benefit pension plan.
In addition to the benefits, the employees will receive a $3.50 per hour wage increase and they will receive retroactive pay back to May 1st, 2025.
The contract will be effective immediately.
The workers went on strike on Thursday August 21st.
