Breaking News: Student found with gun at East High School in Sioux City

SIOUX CITY — A student was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after having a gun at East High School.

A Sioux City School District spokeswoman in a release at about 4 p.m. said no one was harmed as administrators responded to the incident, which is under investigation by the Sioux City Police Department.

The release said, "At the very end of the school day, a student was found to be in possession of a firearm on school grounds. Building administration acted immediately to ensure that students and staff were safe, and the student was taken into custody."
