Generations have been captivated by the magic of The Wizard of Oz and the story of Dorothy Gale and her dog, Toto. The two are whisked away to a magical land when a tornado hits their farm home in Kansas.
On Friday night, April 14th, the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City will come alive with a special performance featuring professional dancers and local performers.
Erin Alarcón is Ballet Master for the American Midwest Ballet and Choreographer of the Wizard of Oz Ballet. As she prepares for the Sioux City show, she visited with Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer about this adaptation and the art of dance.
You can see Erin’s art in motion Friday night at the Orpheum Theatre. The curtain rises at 7:30. For more information and for tickets, check out the website orpheumlive.com.
