BREAKING BARRIERS: Open Mic Night Showcases Diverse Ideas, Prose, and Song

Western Iowa Tech Community College’s Office of Inclusion hosted an Open Mic Night on April 5, 2023. The focus surrounded the topic of “breaking barriers.” The event allowed people a chance to tell their stories of family, fortitude, overcoming self-doubt, and isolation. Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer shares highlights of the gathering that also featured insight from several international students.
