BULLIED: Sioux City Mother Shares Her Daughter's Story

The Sioux City Community School District sent out a letter to parents alerting them to a series of bullying and harassing social media posts. One concerned mother shared her daughter's story with Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer who also reached out to the school district for more insight.

Information on Dr. Dora Jung:

Sioux City Community School District

Dr. Dora Jung serves as Director of Students Services and Equity Education, a position she has held since June of 2021. Previously, Dr. Jung served as the assistant principal of Spalding Park Environmental Sciences Elementary. Prior to joining the Sioux City Community School District in 2018, Dora was with the Sioux Falls School District’s New Technology High School, where she was a Spanish teacher and PBL (Project Based Learning) Academy facilitator. Dora’s experience also includes working as an administrative intern at the Sonia Sotomayor Spanish Immersion Elementary School in Sioux Falls and as an ESL teacher/administrator at the Universidad Regional del Sur-Este in Oaxaca, Mexico. She has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish education from Black Hills State University and a bachelor’s degree in law and social sciences from the Universidad Regional del Sur-Este in Mexico. Dora has a master’s degree in criminal justice from the Universidad Autonoma Benito Juarez de Oaxaca in Mexico. She has her specialist degree in educational administration and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of South Dakota.
