Tiny Desk Meets AFROPUNK is the electrifying kick-off to AFROPUNK's "Black Spring" festival. The virtual celebration, hosted by Jorge "Gitoo" Wright, features performances from ChocQuibTown, Calma Carmona, Luedji Luna and Nenny. AFROPUNK, born out of a 2003 short film by the same name, is an international movement and music festival centered on Black exploration and rebellion.

Robert Ross, the rapper known as Black Rob, who scored hits like "Whoa!" and "Can I Live" for Bad Boy Records in the early 2000s, died Saturday, April 17, at the age of 52.

Ross died at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office. His cause of death is still pending.

Michael Milosh, the Canadian singer-songwriter behind the pop group Rhye, has been accused of sexual assault and domestic violence by his ex-wife, Alexa Nikolas. In several posts initially published on Instagram on March 13, Nikolas accused Milosh of preying on her when she was a minor, coercing her into unwanted sexual acts, verbally abusing her and choking her.

Milosh released a statement via a publicist to multiple media outlets denying Nikolas' allegations on March 17.

International Women's Day celebrates the success and achievements of women. Under the weight of patriarchy, women remain endlessly resilient and fabulously talented; naturally, we wanted to toast all the female musicians who brought us together for comfort, triumph and liberation at the Tiny Desk. It was a challenge selecting five from the archives, but all these performances highlight the power of dynamic women and community connectivity. Chloe x Halle put it best: "Do it for the girls all across the world."

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced the nominees for its newest class of inductees on Wednesday morning: 16 artists and groups ranging from the reigning monarch of the billionaire boys club, Jay-Z, to the pioneering women of new wave group The Go-Go's, to the queen of rock and roll herself, Tina Turner.

The 2021 nominees also include Kate Bush, Devo, Foo Fighters, Mary J. Blige, Iron Maiden, Chaka Khan, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren and Dionne Warwick.

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will make history during Wednesday's inauguration: Biden will become the oldest president in American history, while Harris will be the first Black woman and the first Asian American to hold the office of vice president.
