Wildfires in South Dakota; Update on ISU Crew Club Tragedy

The names of two Iowa State Crew Club members who died after their boat capsized on Little Wall Lake Sunday have been released by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and ISU Police Department.

Twenty-year-old Yaakov Ben-David was a sophomore accounting major from Washington, D.C. Nineteen-year-old Derek Nanni was a freshman chemistry major from Normal, Illinois. The names of the other Crew Club members are not being released to protect their privacy, according to the release. 
 
Unemployment in metro Sioux City is down to 4.1% in February, that's according to data from Iowa Workforce Development. The jobless rate in the larger Sioux City Metropolitan Statistical area fell slightly from 4.3% in January. Iowa's unemployment rate held steady at 3.6%,<--break->
All Woodbury County residents 16 and older can sign up for the coronavirus vaccine today, beginning at 3:00 p.m. The next clinics are slated for April 6 and 8 at the Siouxland Expo Center. These clinics will be using the Pfizer vaccine.  Go to siouxlanddistricthealth.org to sign up.
Morningside and Siouxland District Health will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for Morningside students and employees tommorow morning in the Yockey Student Center. Morningsiders signed up for appointments between 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. will receive the Johnson & Johnson Single Dose COVID-19 Immunization, and the 150 doses of the vaccine will be administered by students in Morningside's Community Health class. 


High winds are hampering firefighters battling wildfires in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The wildfires have forced the evacuations of more than 400 homes and closed Mount Rushmore.
