Tom Steyer, Dem. Presidential Candidate, Visits Siouxland Wednesday

Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer will speak in two campaign events on Wednesday.

Steyer has been vocal in his efforts to impeach President Donald Trump, and he is now making his first campaign stops in Northwest Iowa.

At 9 a.m., Steyer will speak at Hardline Coffee Co., in Sioux City, and at 12:45 p.m. at Better Day Coffee, in Storm Lake, Iowa.

The governor has announced the State of Iowa’s last fiscal year ended with a surplus of nearly $290 million.

The state’s 12-month fiscal year ended June 30th, but the books don’t close until two months later to ensure all receipts and payments are processed. This year’s $289.3 million surplus is more than twice as large as last year’s.

Governor Reynolds issued a written statement this morning.

Confidence in the future of Iowa’s economy is beginning to slip among the heads of the state’s largest employers. That’s the latest outlook from the Iowa Business Council.

Fleet Farm has been named the new arena partner with the Tyson Events Center. A multiyear partnership agreement will mean the Gordon Drive facility will now be called the Tyson Events Center/Fleet Farm Arena
