On The Exchange this week, we talk about the latest developments concerning the coronavirus in Siouxland and Iowa.  Our guests are Dr. Michael Kafka of Unity Point Health-St. Lukes who will talk about efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and how well the hospitals are prepared to treat it.'

Also we talk with.Dr. Amy Rief-Elks.  She is the Program Director of the Siouxland Medical Education Foundation Family Residency Program.  She shared her thoughts about the shortage of both doctors and protective gear during the pandemic. 

We also talk with Ryan West, the Unemployment Insurance Division Admistrator about that change and what you need to do to apply unemployment benefits affected with the CARES Act.

The Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA is offering  child care for essential workers. Mackenzie Daniels is the Youth Development Director at the Norm Wait Sr. YMCA.  We hear about the program and how it works.

Misinformation about COVID-19 spreads far and fast, especially in this age of modern media. Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer found a local expert who says this isn’t something new during a world-wide crisis even among politicians.

April 1st is more than April Fools’ Day, it’s also known as Census Day.  The current census is underway and Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer talked to Erika DeLeon the Director of One Siouxland, about the impact of COVID-19 and the importance of taking part in this once-in-a-decade count.

And Iowa State Unviersity Political Science Professor Stephan Schmidt talks about the likelihood of virtual conventions or elecitons this year.
