Sioux City police are investigating a shooting after a man showed up at MercyOne with a gunshot wound late last night.  He told investigators someone shot him near Park Avenue and 29th Street.  That’s a couple of blocks away from Leif Erickson Park. The man who hasn’t been identified yet by authorities then drove himself to the hospital.

The Senate has overwhelmingly approved a revised North American trade pact in a rare bipartisan vote today that hands President Trump a victory on a key campaign promise. It has happened just as lawmakers are preparing his impeachment trial.

The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, passed by a vote of 89-10. The trade pact, signed by the president in November 2018, received a similar bipartisan vote in the House last month.

The USMCA is meant to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement, negotiated in the 1990s.

A rally demanding Presidential Donald Trump be impeached and removed from office is scheduled for Sioux City tonight.

Activists plan to gather in front of the Federal Building and Congressman Steve King’s Congressional Office in downtown Sioux City at 5:30.

It’s all part of the nationwide “Nobody is Above the Law” rallies.

Two of Iowa’s Democratic Representatives say they will support Articles of Impeachment against President Trump.

The Sioux City Council is expected to vote today to vote on an ordinance that would amend water rates for South Sioux City and Dakota Dunes.

According to the Sioux City Journal, the City of Sioux City entered into agreements for water service with South Sioux City and Dakota Dunes in 2002. The agreement with Dakota Dunes was amended in 2004.

The 2020 rates for South Sioux City will decrease by 7.3 percent, while Dakota Dunes' rates will decrease by 4.8 percent. The minimum monthly charge is set at $1,000 per community.

4th district Republican Congressman Steve King has made it clear he’ll vote against impeaching President Trump this week, but the three Democrats from Iowa who serve in the U.S. House have not announced how they’ll vote.  About two dozen people gathered at the Iowa Republican Party headquarters this weekend to show their support of the president, according to Radio Iowa.

Iowa politicians, commodity groups and Iowa’s business community are celebrating news of a deal that will lead to U.S. House ratification of a new trade agreement to replace NAFTA. Canada and Mexico are Iowa’s two largest trade markets.

Today, Democrats unveiled articles of impeachment charging President Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

About an hour later, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an agreement on a North American trade pact, giving a major win to the president amid impeachment.

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa took to Twitter to talk about the trade deal with Mexico and Canada.

The House Judiciary Committee holds its first hearing in the impeachment inquiry.

The House hearings on the impeachment inquiry wrapped up this afternoon.  Several witnesses came forward and claimed President Donald Trump had asked Ukraine for help looking into the activities of former Vice President and now Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son in exchange for military aid.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has been pushed out first place in the presidential race in Iowa by South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.  According to the new Monmouth University Poll out today, Mayor Pete leads the Democratic presidential candidates in Iowa, ahead of the state’s first in the nation caucuses in February.
