Iowa impaired waters

A bill passed by a House subcommittee would add a step before adding a lake or waterway to the state’s impaired waters list because of high E. coli levels.

Leaders of the Des Moines Water Works say the Environmental Protection Agency was wrong to take parts of the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers off of the impaired waters list.
