The Federal government potentially cutting funds from Medicaid raises concerns for the Siouxland Community Health Center.

Mark Donaldson, Chief Executive Officer of SCHC, informs Siouxland Public Media that as of now, 42% of the population served by the Siouxland Community Health Center uses Medicaid. If cuts are made, 54% of the medicaid patients served by Siouxland Community Health Center would be without medicaid.

Donaldson emphasized that SCHC, “will continue to see that population, but at a reduced fee schedule per our federal mandate.”

Donaldson said that the loss of income would reduce the cost structure, which is economically unsustainable.
