The Exchange 09.09.22: Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
This week on The Exchange, we talk about suicide prevention. This is National Suicide Prevention Week and September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in America. Leaders of a local suicide prevention group in Buena Vista County say there is a real need to support families who have lost loved ones to suicide. We will talk with them.
And we talk with local mental health care counselors, including the hosts of the Siouxland Public Media Podcast AWE, Josh Van Zweden, and LaShawna Moyle.
Also, over the Labor Day Weekend, the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association honored the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 at Arnolds Park. New inductees included brothers Tommy and Johnnie Bolin in the Individual Category. Tommy had already been inducted in 1999 for his work as a teenager in the band “A Patch of Blue.” Johnnie received previous recognition for the bands in 2010, the Sioux City Rockestra in 2012, and Instant Blues Machine in 2014. We are going to leave you today with Tommy Bolin’s song Dream off his debut solo album Teaser released in 1975.
