This week on The Exchange, we talk about the continuing issue of homelessness in Siouxland.
As of last January’s count, there were more than 215 homeless people in the area who had no stable place to live. Some of them live on the streets, some in shelters, and some even take up residence in disused areas of downtown Sioux City.
Last summer, The Exchange held a wide-ranging discussing with members of the Native American community about the high level of homeless people in their community and how local law enforcement and city officials were responding.
Today, we will continue that conversation with Will Meier, a member Native American community, and with Tessa Shanks Executive Director The Warming Shelter.
