It’s Tulip-Time in Orange City, Iowa. Siouxland Public Media’s Mary Hartnett and Sheila Brummer took The Exchange on the road for a special live edition featuring the 81st Orange City Tulip Festival. They did their broadcast from the Dutch American Heritage Museum.

The celebration takes place every third week of May. The tradition started in 1936 to celebrate the community’s rich Dutch heritage.

The program featuring history, food, flowers, and more featured the following guests:

Kathy Gabel – Co-owner Brad’s Breads and Bakery

Will Minnick – Northwestern student and lifelong volunteer
