DUBUQUE, Iowa — President Trump is predicting Republican victories in the midterms. At a Dubuque rally yesterday (Sunday), he urged Iowans to turn out tomorrow (Tuesday) in races that could decide control of Congress.
He praised Senate candidate Ashley Hinson and gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn, promising prosperity and warning against Democratic control.
Hinson urged supporters to keep the Senate Republican.

“So common sense versus crazy is on the ballot. We need to defy Chuck Schumer. Are you going to show up and help us get that done on Tuesday?”
Hinson faces Democrat Josh Turek. Democrats also hope to flip Iowa’s governor’s office.
DES MOINES, Iowa — A leader with the Iowa Farmers Union says the administration’s policies on trade, health care and the war in Iran have been destructive to farmers and rural communities.

“Farmers know that empty talk and cheap platitudes from our leaders will not get the job done. It is very clear we are on the wrong path.”
Lehman says farmers are getting squeezed by rising health care costs and high production costs.
Lehman says cuts to USDA staff have also made it harder for farmers to get technical assistance and navigate federal programs.
He says the state needs Congressional delegates who will reign in Trump and support long-term solutions to the challenges farmers and rural communities face.
