Dickinson County officials could implement countywide rules governing operation of scooters, E-bikes

As more young people and others drive scooters and E-bikes, there could be a combined set of rules and enforcement in Dickinson County, Iowa.

Explore Okoboji reported that the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office is talking with the police departments.

Throughout Northwest Iowa in the last few weeks, residents in such towns as Sergeant Bluff, Sioux Center and Moville have complained about erratic scooter driving and the need for more rules and oversight of the new technologies.

Recreation trails in Dickinson County have posted speed limits of 20 miles-per-hour.
