The Sioux City Council approved a contract for the Larsen Park Road Flood Repair project in its meeting Monday.
According to a city memo, the project is repairing areas damaged from the 2024 flood located on the peninsula of the marina.
The project includes sanitary sewer repairs, bank stabilization, and concrete removal and replacement at the gazebo site.
It will be financed through CIP flood repair funds, and the estimated cost is about $290,000. The operation currently has about $18,800 and will be reimbursed by FEMA.
Bidding for the project opened on Tuesday, April 28. Construction of the repairs is expected to start between May 25 and June 8.
The project is anticipated to be completed by August.
