The Sioux City Council will consider appointing Teresa Fitch as Assistant City Manager and to include the Finance Director under the role in its meeting Monday.
Janelle Bertrand, Human Resources Director for the City, told Siouxland Public Media the city will update the job description to match the official budgeted office.
Fitch began working for the city in 2017 and served in multiple roles, including budget manager, finance director, and interim assistant city manager. She has been in the finance director position since 2020.
The memo says city staff and city council members will increase communication and transparency between the two.
If the city council approves Fitch’s appointment, she will begin her role of assistant city manager immediately.
