NAIA women's basketball national championship will wrap in Sioux City on Tuesday

The women’s national basketball championship for NAIA colleges is playing out in Sioux City, and on Monday evening the two semifinal games will be played.

The first of the games is at 6 p.m. at the Tyson Events Center, with top seed Dordt University of Sioux Center, Iowa, playing Dakota State University.

That will be followed at 8 p.m. by the other semifinal, where Dakota Wesleyan will play Marian University.

Dordt has won the prior two national championships and is looking for a three-peat. The championship will be played Tuesday evening at 7 p.m..

Sixteen teams qualified for this portion of the national NAIA tourney, which has now been played in Sioux City for the last 29 years. The tourney has been touted as a treat for hoops fans and also a boost to the regional economy.
