The Morningside University Board of Directors announced Wednesday that Chad W. Benson is the new president of the institution.
According to a statement, Benson has served as interim president since June 2025 and previously served as chair of the university’s board of directors.
In the statement, Benson said he is deeply honored to be the 14th president, noting the institution had shaped his life and reinforced his belief that leadership is a calling that changes lives through stewardship and helping others.
During his time as interim president, Benson led the acquisition of St. Luke’s College which expanded healthcare programs, solidified partnerships, and reaffirmed commitment to addressing workforce needs.
He also oversaw the enterprise resource planning, a plan to improve data consolidation, increase financial transparency, and boost operational efficiency.
Benson graduated from Morningside University in 1990 and is one of three alumni to serve as president of the institution.
