The North Sioux City commission have approved opening bids for the North Sioux City flood property grading project in its meeting Monday.

According to a memo, the first phase of the project includes removal of debris, grading, and erosion control of lots and properties in areas between 85 and 93 Northshore.

The estimated cost for the grading project is $175,000. Public advertising for the job will be posted on March 20th and 27th, with bids open on April 1st until 2 pm.

North Sioux City has multiple construction projects underway related to flooding recovery, including the Northshore reconstruction project, the Northshore bypass project, and the McCook Lake grading and recovery project.

The June 2024 flooding event severely damaged many homes throughout the area.
