The Sioux City Effective Fiscal and Public Policy committee discussed a model for possible restructuring of the city library system in its meeting Wednesday.

Bret Watchorn, a committee member, told Siouxland Public Media, during the meeting the committee discussed restructuring the system to be made up of smaller branches.

That is the same proposal that committee member Andrew Loffswold explained in the Sioux City Council meeting earlier this week.

Two City Council members, Julie Schoenherr and Rick Bertrand, were in attendance at the committee meeting as representatives from the council for the committee.

Watchorn said the committee voted against presenting the proposal they have to the city council.

He said there was no discussion about the library budget finances.
