The Board of Regents has told the University of Iowa to move forward with disciplinary proceedings against one of its employees.

Last year, two employees were seen in undercover videos talking about how some employees had been working around a state law prohibiting DEI positions and training.

Board President Robert Cramer said the board’s actions are not about politics, personal viewpoints or differing opinions, but following the law.

That law was created a few years ago by the Republicans holding power in the state Legislature .

Cramer did not say whether the employee who will be disciplined is one of the two seen in the videos, nor did he say how the employee would be disciplined.
