The River Valley Community School District announced Friday they will transition to a four-day school week.
According to the school district’s website, the board of directors approved the four-day week, which begins in the 2026-2027 school year.
It also says the school week will run from Tuesday to Friday with an occasional Monday.
In a post, the school district said details are still being decided, including a calendar and hours of operation.
According to a National Conference of State Legislatures report, a four-day week decreases spending, increases student attendance, and helps recruit teachers.
