Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig announced Monday he is running for reelection.
Naig, a Republican, was first appointed as secretary of agriculture in March 2018 to fill a vacancy and was reelected in 2022.
According to Naig, during his time as secretary, he has strengthened Iowa products at all levels of markets, prepared livestock producers for challenges, and set records to protect soil and water quality.
He said his priorities include lowering taxes, supporting farmers, and continuing to improve water quality.
Other candidates running are Democrats Wade Dooley and Chris Jones.
