Morningside University announced Friday that as of January 1st, St. Luke’s College began operating as part of the University.
While the college functions as a part of the university, the U.S. Department of Education still has to complete the merger and consolidation.
Until the merger is complete, the college will maintain its degree authorization, accreditation, and federal student aid participation.
According to a press release, the acquisition is intended to benefit students by improving support and expanding access.
The university has four priorities, including meeting the nursing workforce needs in Sioux City, prioritizing affordable pathways to nursing careers, and expanding its partnership with UnityPoint Health.
Morningside University officially acquired St. Luke’s College in November.
