The Sioux City Council will listen to three presentations that cover building permits, the homeless task force, and the wastewater treatment plant in its meeting Monday.

In the previous city council meeting, council member Rick Bertrand requested that there be a weekly update on the issues.

Bertrand asked that the update for the building permits include how many permit applications there are and how long they have been in the review process.

According to a city memo, city staff is working to improve the city’s review process from the initial interaction of the project through final approval.

The other two presentations will provide an overview of the task force’s first 90 days and the water treatment plant design budget.

During his first city council meeting, Bertrand said the weekly updates were something he would like to see included in the city council agenda moving forward to create more transparency.
