The Sioux City Council approved a public highway at-grade crossing agreement between the City of Sioux City and Union Pacific Railroad Company.

Improvements will be made at the Dace Avenue crossing in connection with the Floyd Riverfront Plywood Trail connector projects. The amount for the project shall not exceed $299,630.

The city will construct a recreational trail along the Union Pacific’s rail corridor. The project requires a public highway crossing agreement between Sioux City and the Union Pacific Railroad Company.

The scope of work includes activities related to the reconstruction and widening of the existing at-grade public road crossing by Union Pacific, including temporary and permanent track installation, site grading, and construction activities.

According to the agreement, the city will cover the at-grade crossing construction at an estimated amount of $296,308 and an annual maintenance fee of $3,322.
