The Sioux City Council approves extending Micheal Collett’s interim city manager term in their meeting Monday.
The search for a new city manager has been deferred since there will be three new council members this coming election. The city intends to pause the search for city manager until after the 2027 budget process concludes in April 2026.
The salary of the interim city manager is $9,230.76 biweekly, which equates to approximately $240,000 annually.
The city had extended an offer of employment to Craig Clark but a deal could not be reached.
Collett has agreed to serve as interim city manager.
