INTERVIEW: Sioux City Public Library's Michael Maxwell Discusses "Sioux City Reads" Novel and Shares Holiday Book List

Michael Maxwell of the Sioux City Public Library shares the Open Book Club's next novel, "A Calm and Normal Heart."

The Sioux City Public Library recently announced the Sioux City Reads book for 2023. The public picked “Calling for a Blanket Dance.” Reading Services Librarian Michael Maxwell discusses the novel and the importance of the program with Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer. He also shares a few gift-giving ideas.

Library officials say to expect a big announcement early next year. It surrounds funding to improve technology in the community through the Federal Emergency Connectively Program through American Rescue Act Funding.
