The 185th Air Refueling Wing of the Iowa Air National Guard will hold an open house Saturday  from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m..  The 185th holds the open house each year to thank the Sioux City community for supporting the base and the men and women serving there.  Col. Larry Christensen is wing commander at the 185th.  He says visitors will be able to see a wide variety of military aircraft.

“We’ve got fighter aircraft, including the F-35 and the F-22, our newest stealth fighters.  We’ve also got a C-5 Globemaster, which is the biggest aircraft in our inventory.  The Army will also be there with some of their inventory, and the fire department and the police will be there will some of their gear too. So come on out, see some cool stuff, it will be a lot of fun,

Visitors will get to see the insides of some of the larger aircraft on display.

There will also be a 5K walk/run on the base, which will pass near the airplanes on the runway, from 9 to 10 a.m.
