April is affordable housing month. Iowa leaders are getting the word out about an online resource to help Iowans find housing. It’s at IowaHousingSearch.org.
Executive Director of the Iowa Finance Authority Dave Jamison featured the site yesterday at the governor’s weekly news conference.
The Jamison said the site aims to help all Iowans locate rental housing and help landlords find renters.

“It’s free and it’s got a very robust search engine, so you can put in inquiries about facilities closest to parks, recreation, things like that. It’s been out there but it’s continuing. I think we have 30 thousand rental units in Iowa, 50 thousand rental units in Iowa and we’d like to get them all on there.”
The Iowa Finance Authority is administering the online service at IowaHousingSearch.org. The site is supported by a toll-free, bilingual call center.
