Drake University was one of many schools bidding to host Vote Smart.  It’s a national organization that employs mostly college interns to analyze political facts and people.  Founding board member Adelaide Kimball says the organization decided to move from its current location on a dude ranch in Montana because it was too expensive and they had to fight blizzards and wildfires.

“The challenges of running a national research organization in the middle of the wilderness were greater than they should be.”

Kimball says Iowa is a great place politically because of its first in the nation presidential caucuses, and also because Drake University is offering first rate facilities.  For Siouxland Public Media, I’M Mary Hartnett.
