INTERVIEW: Chad Sheehan Wins Republican Primary for Woodbury County Sheriff

Chad Sheehan for Sheriff

In the race for Woodbury County Sheriff, former Sioux City police officer Chad Sheehan received a majority of the vote in the Republican primary.  Sheehan beat Major Todd Wieck, a 30-year veteran of department with 60% support.

Current Sheriff Dave Drew who decided to retire at the end of the year, originally endorsed Wieck in the primary.  When Sheehan announced his candidacy, Drew put his support behind Sheehan instead.

The Woodbury County Election Commissioner says the county Democratic Party could still chose a candidate to run against Sheehan in November.
